Every kid wants a bouncy house at their birthday party. They are just so much fun! Who could resist jumping in one?
Although they are so much fun, there are many injuries that come from inflatable houses every year. If you are setting one up for your next party, be mindful of these best practice guidelines:
Follow all the manufacturer’s instructions and guidelines
Allow only children of the same size/age in the inflatable together
Only use inflatables in good weather
Ensure inflatables used indoors have adequate ground padding and clearance around them
Closely supervise children of all ages
If an injury happens, seek a consultation.
The news is full of stories on how busy tourist destinations will be this year. The demand for airline flights is high. But, no one is going to stop vacation season!
We often see patients when they return from a trip, where they complain of uncomfortable beds and airline or car seats. With a bit of planning, your next trip can be pain-free (or at least more comfortable.
When you make your packing list, don’t forget to include the following:
Your own pillow for less neck strain in the hotel
Lumbar support for your back
Water to stay hydrated
Consider these best bets for any travel:
Start out with some stretches and do stretches throughout your trip.
Warm up by taking a brisk walk to stretch your hamstring and calf muscles.
Keep moving. Get up (or out) every 1-2 hours to prevent soreness and cramping.
Previously, we shared car travel tips to help you keep your back happy when on the road.
And, if you do lift that heavy suitcase the wrong way, we are here to help you heal. But, we hope you use your legs and we won’t need to tell you to ice the pain.
Summer is already in full swing, so get out and enjoy the warm weather! But, please be careful doing it.
