Prescription Antibiotics and Natural Alternative Relief for Colds and Flu

This time of year, many Burnsville, MN residents find themselves suffering from sinus and ear infections, which are often treated with prescription antibiotics. Physicians often treat infections and inflammations with these drugs which have negative side-effects on the colon and causes mutation to normal colon yeast, leading to Candida albicans.

If you decide to take antibiotics:

  • Rhizinate (chewable licorice) – good for bronchitis, colitis, diverticulosis, gastritis, stress, colds, nausea and inflammation. It cleanses the colon, promotes adrenal gland function, decreases spasms and increases fluidity of mucus from the lungs and bronchial tubes.
  • Goldenseal – strengthens the immune system, acts as an antibiotic, and has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. It is good for colds, flu, inflammation and other uses.
  • Echinacea – has an antibiotic, anti-viral and anti-inflammatory properties. It is usually taken as a tea for colds, flu and infections.
  • Onions – in the same family as garlic, they can be made into a poultice and applied for chest congestions, bronchitis and ear infections. For a cold, steep an onion in hot water for few minutes and sip throughout the day.
