Fall Sports and Chiropractic

by Karlynn L. Benson, D.C.

Burnsville area schools are back in session and it’s time for fall sports. It might be football, soccer, field hockey, fencing, swimming, tennis, volleyball or wrestling keeping your child moving before, during or after school. Kids love to tackle, fall, jump and slide. They also fall down and have injuries. We can keep them from more severe injuries with chiropractic prevention education, structural adjustments or recommending ways to prevent future injury.

Preventative Care

For organized sports, kids are required to get a physical. A chiropractic assessment provides a similar type of initial assessment, where we can address any current issues and create a baseline for any future reviews.

It’s a fact that kids are movers. Even if they are not in organized sports, they are active. Often, kids do not complain when a bump or nudge happens. But, it can affect what might happen in the future. By getting regular check-ups, we can be sure address minor issues before they become major traumas.

Elite Athletes Use Chiropractic Care

There’s a reason most professional sports teams have a chiropractor on staff for their own personal use. Chiropractic care can be an enormous benefit for preventing and treating sports-related injuries. Additionally, it can help improve athletic performance. Elite athletes use chiropractic care to optimize their performance.

Your amateur child athlete needs the same kind of care. And, because they have growing bodies, an injury now, can cause many issues in the future.
