When Should I See a Chiropractor for Back Pain?

The first question may seem obvious, but we have found it is a frequent question. When should I see a chiropractor for my back pain?

The answer - You should see the chiropractor as soon as you can. Why, as with any injury, if it is left to fester and increase in intensity, it will take longer to heal.

Be aware of what your body is telling you, and allow it to heal naturally, without it becoming chronic pain.

But, that does not mean you should not see a chiropractor if you have chronic pain. I you have had back pain for longer than six months, and it is impacting your life, please make an appointment. We are here to help.

The Scientific Proof Your Chiropractor Can Help Your Back Pain

The lifetime prevalence of low back pain in the United States may be as high as 84% according to The Spine Journal. In a recent study published in this journal, people with chronic low back pain were treated with chiropractic manipulation or mobilization therapies. The study found chiropractic to have a greater effect in treating chronic low back pain.

A key study published in JAMA supports the conclusion that the chiropractic care can be recommended for low back pain. The study was among active-duty U.S. military personnel, who had usual medical care plus chiropractic who were compared to those with only medical care. Those with chiropractic care felt more relief from their back pain.
