Do you have low back pain? Chiropractic can help.

Low back pain is one of the most common reasons patients visit Skyline Chiropractic. The reason are many: you shoveled 42 inches of snow, pulled too many weeds, lifted your child or had an accident. But, no matter the reason, you know the pain is real.

Chiropractic care provides a comprehensive treatment for relief for low back pain. Let’s review the recent research.

The Research

In response to the opioid crisis, chiropractic care is front and center as treatment for pain. A recent JAMA study of 750 active-duty military personnel, found participants receiving chiropractic care reported having few back problems!

“The current study provides the strongest evidence to date that chiropractic care is safe, effective, and results in high levels of patient satisfaction and perceived treatment benefit, thus strengthening our knowledge regarding this conservative non drug option for low back pain,” Christine M. Goertz, DC, PhD, a chiropractor with the Spine Institute for Quality in Iowa, told Healthline.

Stretching and Exercise

Chiropractic care is just one part of an overall wellness program. An study on adolescents in the journal PAIN found that combining spinal manipulation therapy with exercise showed greater pain relief and improved treatment satisfaction.

During your evaluation, we will work with you on a care program, which will include stretches and exercises. Improved mobility and pain relief are our goals.

The Foot Connection

Most chronic low-back pain is the result of some form of structural weakness or failure, and one source is often an imbalance condition in one or both feet.

Key signs that you should consider your feet could be causing you back pain:

  • Shoes wear unevenly
  • Joint pain when standing, walking or running
  • One leg is shorter than the other
  • Bowlegs or knock-knees
  • Foot problems like bunions, corns, flat feet or others
  • Your feet “toe out” when walking
  • You stand for more than four hours a day

If you have any of these foot conditions, we should discuss orthotics.

Don’t let lower back pain keep you from living your best life. Make an appointment, today, and start living pain-free!
